From the 20 of may  to 15 of august, 2010: weekly performances of the Epona Spanish Riding School at the Castle of Buda

Maybe we return to the castle after the 15 of september untol october(moer informations about this later)

More than 70 years ago, in 1939, the Spanish Riding School of the Hungarian Royal Guards was established. In this riding school the most talented riders trained their horses to perform the most difficult exercises, and they regularly held special shows in front of a huge audience, for example in the riding school built especially for this purpose at the Castle of Buda.
However, the riding school could only operate for a short period of time, because history put an end to the activity of the riders and horses. Not only the riders and the horses but also the buildings of the riding school disappeared from the Castle.
The Epona Spanish Riding School of Hungary aims at evoking this long lost classical tradition that was once known all over Europe.
For this purpose, the Borsó family began the import of andalusian horses, the horse breed that is capable of performing all the schooljumps and the most difficult exercises of the high school. All the imported horses are of high value and all of them are extremely well-trained.
Ágnes and Dorottya Borsó popularized the andalusian horses and the spanish style of riding for several years on performances of high standard. According to the success of their programmes, they created an institution together with the secondary school Pettkó-Szandtner. 50 beautiful horses and several talented riders from the secondary school are at the disposal of Epona at the moment.
The young riders of the school presented their show-programme in 2009 at the Castle of Buda with 16 well-trained andalusian horses. The performances were held from the 30. July to 2. august and from the 11. august to the 14th, every evening at 20:30, at the Castle of Buda in the Court of the Lions.

From 20 of may, 2010 all the spanish stallions will be dancing again at the Castle of Buda, weekly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 21am.

Tickets to buy in Ticket express and at the Castle of Buda.
